On the four Advent weekends the Fischergut, one of the oldest farmhouses of the region, will become the venue for a small Advent market full of customs and traditions with plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy.
The Fischergut will be filled with the scent of gingerbread, cinnamon and mulled wine. Market stalls will offer homemade delicacies and traditional handicrafts from the region.
The market days will be opened with the lighting of the first large lantern while a Christmas story is being read. While the adults take a stroll among the Christmas trees in the life-size Advent wreath, learn how to make Advent wreaths in the barn or listen to the traditional brass musicians and singers, the children are looking forward to pony riding in the snow, making Christmas decorations and writing letters to the Christ Child.
2.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. Pony riding in front of the Fischergut
2.00 p.m. – 7.30 p.m. Live wood carving demonstration with sculptor Klaus Astner who will create a life-size crib. Sculptor Klaus Astner and his two sons will show children and also adults the art of wood carving. They learn how to work with sculpting tool and how to work with wood and they can test their skills on a wooden Swiss stone pine board.
3.00 p.m. – 5.00 p.m. Children make Christmas decorations and write letters to the Christ child
4.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. Making advent wreaths, decorating with fir branches
4.00 p.m. Advent programme with nativity plays, Advent music, traditional singers, etc.
7.30 p.m. Performance by Advent brass musicians

7th December – Arrival of Saint Nicholas! Saint Nicholas will visit the Mountain Advent at the “Fischergut” at 4.00 p.m. All well-behaved children will receive small presents. As patron saint of sailors and boatmen, Saint Nicholas of Myra will arrive by ship in Pertisau. After the children have met him at the jetty at 4.00 p.m. they will accompany him to the “Fischergut”. Saint Nicholas will read a story to the children and hand out small presents.
