Swimming or playing on the shore – nothing beats summer holidays by the water!
In the Sports & Vitality Park Achensee, Tirol’s largest lake is the deepest hue of aquamarine. Embedded in the Karwendel Nature Park, the largest protected area in the Northern Limestone Alps, a natural treasure awaits. The lake, which is known for its drinking water quality, is nine kilometres long and 133 metres at its deepest point. Sailors and surfers appreciate the excellent wind conditions, swimmers enjoy the accessible shoreline, and nature lovers are fond of the colours. The bright limestone rock causes the surface of the water to shimmer in hues of Caribbean turquoise and aquamarine.
Leisure centre Atoll Achensee – recreation in any weather
The SEE-BAD beckons with heavenly outdoor bathing fun and direct access to the lake surrounded by the magnificent mountain panorama. Take the plunge, cool off and then bask in the sun on the idyllic sunbathing lawn! Standup paddle boarding (SUP) is a great way to glide leisurely over the lake. SUPs are available to hire on-site.
Achenkirch offers a special bathing beach for all water enthusiasts which develops higher water temperatures in summer. A large play area featuring a water playground, a pirate ship and an observation tower keeps children entertained.
Located on the southern lakeshore, the bathing beach in Pertisau features a 5,000 m² sunbathing lawn with direct lake access, making it a popular attraction for families seeking to cool off on hot summer days.
Hechenberg, Schwarzenau and the parkour of the diving club Innsbruck are the three diving hotspots at Lake Achensee which has a visibility of up to ten metres.
