Fresh tracks in the snow, a perfectly prepared ice rink, the scent of apple-and-cinnamon punch and the wintry lake glistening through the branches of the snow-covered conifers: This is winter at Lake Achensee. Make your dreams come true and let yourself be transported into the winter wonderland at Tirol’s largest lake.
Paradise for cross-country skiers
From flat, gentle stretches along the lakeshore to sporting challenges in the Karwendel valleys – the Achensee region is rightly one of Tirol’s most popular cross-country skiing destinations. Over 200 kilometres of tracks will be groomed. Here you can find the currently groomed cross-country ski runs.
Downhill skiing for the whole family
For those who are looking for classic winter sports, the Achensee region offers four ski areas featuring 53 kilometres of slopes and two practice terrains. The ski areas with numerous wide slopes are particularly family-friendly, making it easy for parents to keep an eye on the young generation.
Ice-skating at Lake Achensee
The Atoll Achensee is a popular destination year round. How about rounding off your cross-country skiing tour in the panoramic sauna with views of Lake Achensee? Ice skating is a popular workout in winter and the ideal activity for family fun. The ice skating rink is located directly at the lake, and every Friday at 16.00 there will be an ice disco with cool music, mulled wine, children’s punch and amazing lighting effects.
